At our Kimono Studio in New York, we are thrilled to offer a unique cultural experience that brings the beauty of Japan to life. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a special Shichi-Go-San photoshoot, a beloved Japanese tradition celebrating the growth and milestones of children.
In this session, a charming 3-year-old boy wore a traditional kimono and hakama, marking his Shichi-Go-San celebration. This important event in Japan is a rite of passage for children at the ages of 3, 5, and 7, symbolizing their growth and the joy of family. It was heartwarming to witness this young boy dressed in a beautifully embroidered kimono, paired with his proud parents, both of whom also wore traditional attire. His mother and father looked stunning in their kimonos, sharing in the joy of this cultural moment.
Our studio’s professional team worked to ensure that each piece of clothing was perfectly fitted and styled, from the delicate patterns of the kimono to the intricate accessories that complement the ensemble. We also guided the family through the entire experience, helping them connect with the deeper meaning behind these garments and traditions.
This photoshoot was not just about capturing beautiful moments on camera; it was about embracing and sharing the richness of Japanese culture right here in New York. Whether you are Japanese or from another background, wearing kimono can be a deeply meaningful and enjoyable experience, allowing you to step into the timeless elegance of Japan’s heritage.
We are excited to offer more opportunities for individuals and families to experience this unique tradition and to create lasting memories in beautiful kimono. Stay tuned for more photos and stories, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you’d like to book your own kimono experience!
